These attempts at plaster work were unfortunately poured, unlevelled and mixed unevenly. This has caused fragments to break off from the lightsabre cast that I made. The gun cast on the other hand has the same problem of poor distribution for casting plaster. I've gone wrong in a few places of mixing the material correctly. I should have levelled the vacuum formed casts to prevent this, if there were cuts on the outside of the mould, I should have used tape or clay to block the gaps. The mixture was too damp to the touch which means that the mixture itself didn’t quite have the right ratio of plaster to water. This creates a different shape compared to the other cast forms of which makes it stand out. These were learning curves for me when mixing amounts of plaster. I don't intend to use these in my placements for the final pattern outcome of military control.
Here is another view of the failed plaster casts.
